Dynamic DNS Service

Description

Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) services support devices that operate as part of the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT devices include sensors, actuators, controllers, and embedded computers that operate on your private (home) network. DDNS allows you to setup a hostname that creates a subdomain of samedayrules.net, which can then point to the public IP address of your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) broadband network device (e.g., cable or DSL modem). The DDNS service then accepts updates from utility software installed on your IoT device or provided by your home router that map your hostname to your public IP address. This enables you to easily access your IoT devices operating on your home network from the public Internet using your familiar hostname. DDNS is part of the Same Day Rules IoT suite of services.

Currently, the subscription price of $12/year allows you to establish up to three hostnames, which is a quota of three DNS records. That’s less than the cost of most static IP addresses through your ISP, and much less than the cost of registering your own domain name through typical hosting providers.

Choose the level of service that is right for your application or business. The higher the level of service, the higher your quota, and the more DNS records that you can create.

To use Same Day Rules DDNS service:

1. Register as a user (only registered users can access the service).
2. Subscribe to the service here by adding it to your cart.
3. Complete the checkout process (you’ll be sent an access key after checkout).
4. Navigate to the DDNS Manage page.
5. Manage your new hostnames from the DDNS dashboard.
